Challenge
Solution
This project was originally commissioned by the Greater Illinois chapter located in Chicago. After the national organization saw the resulting impact, they commissioned me to make a few slight revisions for initial use nationally by eight specific chapters: Central Pennsylvania, Gateway, Greater Illinois, National Capital Area, New Jersey, New York City, Rocky Mountain, and Texas Gulf.
The Bring the Change campaign has grown since my first commission in 2016 and has been adopted as a national driver. You can still see aspects of the original poster in use today.
Design Details
Customizable Date
Even when this project was only going to be used by the Greater Illinois chapter, it would be distributed to hundreds of schools. Keeping that in mind, the poster features a “fill-in-the-date” area to make it easy for schools to customize it based on their event week and also make it so that we could control the appearance of the dates to ensure it’s legibility.
Photocopy Friendly
Since the parent letter would be photocopied for every student, we wanted to keep it contained to one page as well as make something that looked good both in color or in gray tones depending on how each school decided to handle it.
Information at a Glance
Whether it be the parent letter, coordinator instructions, poster, or wrap up report, all of the pieces for this campaign were designed to have the most important information easily seen at a glance.
